John Anderson, Broker
John joined The Garner Group as a licensed real estate broker in April 2008. An Oregon native, he grew up in Klamath Falls and has lived in the Bend area since 2000. John obtained his Oregon real estate license in 1996 while in Corvallis, and worked as a surveyor with CH2M Hill in California before moving to Central Oregon. He re-entered real estate in 2001 and has oriented his career toward working with builders and developers in Central Oregon.
A graduate of Oregon State University, John earned a bachelor’s degree in agricultural science and minored in fisheries and wildlife, and civil engineering and surveying. A horseman and outdoorsman, he enjoys high mountain trail riding, hiking, backpacking and hunting. He lives in the Fall River area in company with his malamute, Will, and three American Quarter Horses—Montana, The Shiner and Old Yellow.
John is a member of Holy Redeemer Parish in La Pine. His son, Joshua, age 9, lives in Lakeview. John’s mother, Catherine Anderson, is a New York Times best-selling author of romance novels, many with western themes. She lives with family and pets on a 160-acre retreat between La Pine and Sunriver.
John embraces the philosophy that, as a real estate agent, one should feel good about what he or she is doing. This, he explains, is achieved by developing a close relationship with clients to make sure they realize their buying ambitions and by helping them find the property that they truly desire.
