The Garner Group crew staffed a check point along the route, adopting a Fiesta theme, handing out bottled water, fruit snacks, granola bars and balloons as well as signing off on participants’ route slips. There were five check points in all.
Several local and national corporate sponsors helped the March of Dimes undertake the annual event, which focused attention on the organization’s efforts to improve conditions for newborn babies, especially those who are premature or otherwise in need of medical attention.
Preparing and staffing the check point were Sandy and Jay Garner, Wendy Adkisson, Shelley Griffin, Erica Davis, Tracy Hess, Alison Garner-Mata, Dave Pease, and family members Jim Adkisson, Ben Griffin and McKenna Davis.
