BEST BEND GOLF COURSES

Golf has emerged as a major Central Oregon attraction, drawing visitors and new residents alike and is one of the reasons Bend real estate is appealing. We have compiled a directory listing public and private courses in the area, ranging from a nine-hole par 3 to championship courses that have hosted the Jeld-Wen Tradition, Ghost Tree Invitational and the Pacific Amateur Golf Classic. There are private courses associated with gated communities and upscale resorts plus a wide selection of municipal, commercial and resort courses open to the public. Many of the latter also offer memberships that confer club privileges or reduced fees, or special packages for resort guests. What they have in common is some of the most spectacular scenery in Central Oregon, which is to say some of the most spectacular on the globe, plus great weather for most of the year.

Bend Golf Club

Bend Golf Club

Our Chandler Egan-designed golf course is the centerpiece of the BGC experience and we’re proud of what it’s become. Since 1925, our 18-hole, 7,000-yard layout has offered the ideal blend of walkability and natural contours. Expert players and high handicappers alike love the exceptionally smooth greens and seeing their shots framed by towering Ponderosa pines. In 2015, Golf Course Architect Dan Hixson oversaw the removal of more than 200 trees from the course to improve both playability and turf health. No homes are located on the course’s interior, enhancing the tranquil setting. A practice range right next to the clubhouse and nearby short-game area, along with a 280-yard practice hole, make it as easy to work on your game as it is to jump out for a quick nine after work. We have very few outside events in order to keep the course available to members.

At the very heart of the Awbrey Glen experience is the magnificent 18-hole championship Bunny Mason designed golf course. Playing from just under 5400 yards to over 7000 yards from the tips, each memorable hole offers you enough difficulty to be challenging without being unfair or relying on gimmicks. Soaring views, numerous lakes and spectacular rock outcroppings gives you the kind of beauty and uniqueness available only in Central Oregon. One round at Awbrey Glen will convince you this is the course you will want to play time-and-time-again. Augmenting this challenging and visually stunning golf track is Awbrey Glen's practice center, which we call the Golf Learning Center, the finest in the Northwest. It features a double-ended driving range with Central Oregon's only 5-hole par 3 course. This facility, open year round, is perfect for all ages, but particularly for families and young golfers. The Loop Course does not require tee times and is available to all who want the perfect place to hone their golf skills.
